There is a common saying that a woman sometimes has to wear the pants in the relationship... Well that is just what happened.
We met working together at H&R Block, and it did take me long to realize that this tall guy in the meetings I was in is quite funny and I wanted to get to know him. After I slid into his messages and some back in forth banter... We decided we would go to lunch the day before Danny left to go to Iceland for a week and I well I left for Annual Training. A few months later it took some digs and some comments for Danny to ask me to be his Girlfriend. The rest... is history.
It has taken us FIVE years to get to this moment, and what a five years its been. With a deployment, Covid, raising a teenage boy, and a few job changes we have made it to this point.
I knew two things when we took our first vacation to Waupaca:
1- I was head over heels for this man
2- I was going to get married in Waupaca.
It was shortly after this trip the entire world would shut down and we decided that we would move in together, I would deploy and Danny would become a Father figure. We grew so much as a family and in our relationship. It would then take a few years and lots of pushing from families for the ring to finally appear. With a Dupuis Summer Trip to Waupaca coming up Danny knew this was the moment. I didn't know it was coming and I planned the scene. A boat cruise around the chain.... little did I know that was going to be pictures ended up with my proposal.
